Today we are going to look at a combination of the two past series. All five photos are use one swan as the main subject, the father swan near his nest. I was extremely lucky to witness and photograph (with great resulting shots) the actions that would unfold.
Swans when nesting have a very interesting and effective protection system set up for their new borns. The mother stays at the nest incubating the eggs and keeping them safe while the father patrols the surrounding area fending off competitors and I am sure predators.
This is what happens when a competing swan gets a little too close to a new swan family. Enjoy!
